Since I spent a lot of time on an airplane this weekend I had plenty of time to make some changes I’ve been wanting to make for a while to this theme.  Here’s a quick breakdown of what I added:

  • Bootstrap carousel on homepage page template
    • When activated via the theme options panel this feature brings in the featured images, titles and post excerpts from a number of posts (which can also be set in the theme options panel).
  • Typeahead plugin on top nav search bar
    • The typeahead plugin searches recent blog posts and adds them appropriately to the list of options that are displayed. Right now it’s only showing posts, but will expand this in the near future to also bring in pages.
  • Now built on LESS

v2.1 Released

We’re pretty psyched about this release. A few days ago we came across Thomas Park’s project – Bootswatch – and just had to bring it into the WP-Bootstrap theme. Thomas was kind enough to set up a feed for us of all the Bootswatch themes he’s been putting on his site and this update brings in the ability to set a stylesheet from one of those themes as the bootstrap stylesheet.

The ZIP file you download when you download WP-Bootstrap comes with all the Bootswatch themes that have been published as of the time of this post. However, if more themes are released later, you can refresh the themes through the WP-Bootstrap theme options panel.

v2.0 Released

Well, it took us a few weeks, but we’ve just released an update to the theme to go along with the 2.0 release of twitter bootstrap. There are a bunch of fixes and enhancements in this update. Here are a few notables:

  • Dropdown menus in top navigation – This was something that we’d left out of our last version, but knew needed to be added. This dropdown uses the standard twitter bootstrap dropdown javascript plugin.
  • Better commenting styles.
  • Enhanced menu on tablet/mobile versions using the twitter bootstrap collapse plugin.
  • Iconography by Glyphicons
  • More i’m forgetting

v1.0 Released

We’re proud to announce that version 1.0 of the WordPress Bootstrap theme is now available to download on Github. We’ve tried to make this something that could not only be used by theme developers as a pretty good starting point for their next theme, but also as a nice minimalist-type theme. Please let us know what you think in the comments.
